Desiree Boardwine Wins Random Acts Songwriting Contest

18-year-old Streetsboro High School Grad Takes the Grand Prize

After a month of voting on Time Warner Cable’s Local On Demand channel 501, Desiree Boardwine received the most votes to win the Random Acts Songwriting Contest.

She was competing against four other finalists: Mike Protich, Bob Buckridge, Cara, and Jim Mileti.

The contest was part of the NEON Network show “Random Acts of Music,” a 30-minute show offering independent musicians a venue to be heard.

As part of the grand prize, Boardwine will star in her own music video, provided by Henry J. Productions, with a private video release party at the 356th Fighter Group Restaurant in North Canton. Other prizes include recording studio time and an acoustic guitar provided by Woody James Guitars.
